The new D-UP high-security cylinder offers the highest level of protection against break-ins and tampering.
"DESMODROME" CONCEPT
The cylinder mechanism is based on the "desmodromic" concept, which derives from the Greek "obligatory path."
Without the key, the combination dials are in a random position; any movement or vibration of the cylinder can cause them to move unpredictably.
The key coding corresponds to the shape of the key track.
When the key is inserted into the cylinder, the dials assume the only permitted position, which corresponds to the key coding.
The NEW POWER cylinder is not suitable for the "bumping" technique (a widespread system of illegal opening of cylinders) thanks to the desmodromic encryption system (ERSI ELF MEMBER Declaration dated October 24, 2008 for NEW POWER cylinders).
KNOB PROVISION
The cylinder is equipped on the inside with a 40mm long, 8mm diam., brass bar that can be trimmed flush for the insertion of a control knob.
COMBINATIONS
The system consists of 7 gorges (ref. 5/7), each of which can be set to 5 different positions, and 2 combination pins (ref. 9 and 13), which in turn can be set to two different positions.
The effective combinations according to the EN 1303 standard are: 235920.
KEY BLANK PROTECTION
The key blank is protected by a fitting made on the base of the key that is compatible with the seat on the rotor.
KEY BLANK PROTECTION AND DUPLICATION CONTROL
The D-Up cylinder has a level 3 security rating for key duplication according to ICIM regulation 70R009.
In fact, D-Up keys can only be duplicated by presenting the ownership card and exclusively by Dierre S.p.A. through Dierre Key Point centers. The marking is not printed on the key, but only on the ownership card, completely excluding duplication from the key sample. For key duplication, use only Dierre Spa key blanks, protected by a patent that guarantees their security.
NON-DESTRUCTIVE KEY-BREAKING SECURITY
The cylinder is equipped with a mechanism to recognize and block counterfeit keys.
If a specially modified key is inserted into the cylinder to allow the gorges to be positioned in more than one combination (a key used by intruders for non-destructive break-ins), the key is recognized and captured, meaning it remains locked in the cylinder.
DRILL-RESISTANT PROTECTION AND KEY PROFILE CONTROL
Drill-resistant protection is provided by two elements: a ball (ref. 17) and a pin (ref. 18), made of hardened steel. The crescent-shaped plate (ref. 15) protects the gorges and also controls the key profile.
BURGLARY RESISTANCE
The New Power cylinder is equipped with a module connecting bar, made of a steel alloy different from the traditional brass used in cylinders, which guarantees high resistance to forced entry.
