EUROPLAST Polypropylene Flue Systems for Condensing Boilers

The De Marinis EUROPLAST range is a single-wall polypropylene PPs flue system specifically designed for combustion-product evacuation from condensing heat generators and other applications covered by the system technical specification.

Polypropylene is particularly suitable for condensing appliances, which operate with relatively low flue-gas temperatures and produce condensate. EUROPLAST includes rigid and flexible pipes, elbows, T-connectors, inspection elements and accessories for configuring the required flue route.

The range is made from white polypropylene and is primarily intended for indoor installation. Nominal diameters are available from Ø50 to Ø200 mm.

Which appliances is EUROPLAST designed for?

EUROPLAST is primarily designed for condensing heat generators, where relatively low combustion-product temperatures make polypropylene flue systems suitable.

De Marinis also specifies compatible use with domestic kitchen hoods, within the operating limits stated by the manufacturer.

EUROPLAST is not a universal flue system for every appliance. It must not be used outside the applications covered by its technical documentation.

Why is polypropylene used for condensing boilers?

Condensing boilers produce relatively low-temperature flue gases and significant amounts of condensate.

Polypropylene PPs is widely used in dedicated condensing flue systems because it is suitable for the operating conditions associated with this type of appliance.

EUROPLAST is classified W for wet operating conditions.

T120 temperature class

EUROPLAST has a T120 temperature classification.

The system must therefore only be used for appliances and applications compatible with this temperature class. It is not intended for wood stoves, pellet stoves, fireplaces or other higher-temperature combustion appliances.

P1 and H1 positive-pressure configurations

EUROPLAST is available in different pressure configurations.

The designation T120-P1-W-2-O00-LI-E-U applies to the lined flue system and connecting flue duct with gasket in class P1.

De Marinis also declares the T120-H1-W-2-O00-LI-E-U configuration for flue systems resistant to pressures up to 5,000 Pa.

Rigid and flexible components

The EUROPLAST range includes both rigid pipes and corrugated flexible liners, allowing the system to be adapted to different installation routes.

Available diameters

  • Ø50 mm
  • Ø60 mm
  • Ø80 mm
  • Ø100 mm
  • Ø125 mm
  • Ø160 mm
  • Ø200 mm

Available components

The range includes:

  • straight pipes in several lengths;
  • corrugated flexible liners;
  • 30°, 45° and 87° elbows;
  • inspection elbows;
  • T-connectors;
  • reducers and adapters;
  • inspection components;
  • flexible-liner connectors;
  • support components;
  • terminals and installation accessories.

Indoor installation and UV exposure

The EUROPLAST technical documentation specifies indoor installation.

Where the flue must run outdoors, a system specifically designed to protect the polypropylene liner from environmental exposure and UV radiation should be used.

For these applications, De Marinis also offers SYSTEM CONDEX, which combines a polypropylene inner flue with an external metallic casing.

EUROPLAST vs SYSTEM CONDEX

EUROPLAST is a single-wall polypropylene system primarily intended for indoor use.

SYSTEM CONDEX combines a polypropylene inner duct with a stainless steel or natural copper external wall and can be installed indoors or outdoors.

Important limitations

De Marinis specifically warns that applications involving halogen vapours, such as laundries, ironing facilities and chemical laboratories, require additional technical verification.

How to select EUROPLAST components

Before purchasing, check:

  • compatibility of the appliance with a polypropylene flue system;
  • the required diameter;
  • flue-gas temperature;
  • required operating pressure;
  • overall route length;
  • bends and offsets;
  • whether rigid or flexible components are required;
  • condensate management;
  • indoor or outdoor location;
  • the appliance manufacturer's instructions.
