Thermorossi wood-burning fireplace inserts are designed to refurbish compatible existing open fireplaces or form the technical firebox of a new fireplace installation.

The range includes Skyline 490, Skyline 540, Skyline 800 and Skyline 1000, together with panoramic configurations such as Panorama, Panorama Right Corner and Panorama Left Corner.

A key feature of the range is Thermorossi Fullscreen technology, designed to maximise the visible area of the flame. Skyline inserts operate by natural convection in their standard configuration and selected models can become fan-assisted and ductable by adding the optional AIRBOX4 kit.

Why install an insert in an existing fireplace?

Fullscreen technology

Fullscreen is designed to increase the visible area dedicated to the fire and is one of the distinctive features of current Thermorossi wood inserts.

Skyline 490

Skyline 490 is the most compact Skyline format in height.

It operates by natural convection and can be converted to fan-assisted and ductable operation with AIRBOX4.

Main features include an all-cast-iron combustion chamber, stainless-steel and cast-iron heat exchanger, 130 mm flue outlet, 60 mm external combustion-air connection, reversible door and removable ash pan.

Skyline 540

Skyline 540 uses a taller firebox and Fullscreen glazing while retaining a compact overall width.

It is available in different output configurations and can use optional AIRBOX4 ventilation and ducting.

Skyline 800

Skyline 800 has a wider combustion chamber designed for larger logs.

The current main configuration has a declared nominal output of 10.6 kW and can accommodate logs up to approximately 60 cm.

It carries an Italian 5-Star environmental rating.

Skyline 1000

Skyline 1000 is the widest format in the Skyline family and is intended for fireplace projects requiring a broad horizontal view of the flame.

Panorama and corner inserts

Thermorossi Panorama inserts provide a wider view of the fire, while right- and left-corner versions add side glazing for architectural fireplace installations.

Natural convection

Skyline inserts operate by natural convection in their standard configuration without requiring forced-air ventilation.

AIRBOX4 ventilation and ducting

The optional AIRBOX4 kit adds fan-assisted warm-air distribution and ducting to compatible inserts.

Duct lengths, bends and outlet locations must comply with Thermorossi installation requirements.

All-cast-iron combustion chamber

Skyline inserts use an all-cast-iron combustion chamber combined with a stainless-steel and cast-iron heat exchanger.

Secondary and tertiary combustion air

Secondary and tertiary air management forms part of the combustion system and contributes to the manufacturer's glass-cleaning arrangement.

Reversible firebox door

Selected Skyline inserts use a reversible firebox door, which can assist integration into different fireplace layouts.

Checking the fireplace opening

Measure the available width, height, depth, chimney connection position and required convection space before selecting the insert.

Checking the existing chimney

The existing chimney should be checked for section, height, draught, airtightness, material, condition and insulation.

Relining may be required where the existing chimney is not compatible with the new appliance.

Choosing the correct output

Heat output should be selected according to actual building heat demand rather than floor area alone.
