Palazzetti Ecofire pellet fireplace inserts are built-in pellet appliances designed to heat living spaces through fan-assisted or ducted warm air, with automatic pellet feeding and electronic control.

They can be used to upgrade compatible existing fireplaces or to create new built-in fireplace installations.

The range includes compact models such as Small 54, fan-assisted inserts such as A70S and A78, and ductable solutions such as AC78 and KPE8.

How does a pellet fireplace insert work?

A pellet insert uses an integrated hopper, automatic pellet feeding and an electronic control system for ignition, output and ventilation.

Fan-assisted or ductable?

Fan-assisted models mainly heat the installation room, while ductable inserts can transfer part of the warm-air output to additional compatible rooms.

Small 54

Small 54 is the most compact model in the range, measuring approximately 54 × 57 × 48 cm.

It provides 5.7 kW rated output with front fan-assisted heating.

• up to 18 hours declared operating time;
• 0.548–1.343 kg/h pellet consumption;
• 80 mm flue outlet;
• cast-iron burn pot;

A70S

A70S provides 9 kW rated output and carries the Italian 5-Star environmental rating.

It reaches 91% nominal efficiency and uses an 11 kg pellet hopper.

Features include Balanced Door, Quick Start, cast-iron burn pot, Thermofix® lining and Universal Gateway preparation.

A70S with optional ducting

A70S is primarily a front fan-assisted insert, but an optional warm-air ducting kit can be installed to transfer heat to additional rooms.

The optional front pellet-loading drawer cannot be combined with the ducting kit.

A78

A78 provides 12.5 kW rated output with adjustable front ventilation.

It uses a 23 kg pellet hopper, provides up to 29 hours declared operating time and carries an Italian 4-Star environmental rating.

AC78

AC78 uses the same 12.5 kW platform but is specifically designed for ducted warm-air heating.

Its dedicated fan has a declared airflow of approximately 680 m³/h.

KPE8

KPE8 is a vertical-format 8 kW pellet insert measuring approximately 45 × 68 × 98 cm.

It uses two centrifugal fans and distributes warm air through two separate ducts.

Pellet loading is performed through a front drawer, while the firebox can be extracted on sliding guides for maintenance access.

Pellet-loading configuration is particularly important for built-in appliances.

Selected Palazzetti inserts use front drawers or dedicated loading systems that must be considered when designing the fireplace surround.

Balanced Door

Current Palazzetti pellet inserts use Balanced Door on several models to maintain correct door closure while compensating for thermal expansion.

Universal Gateway and Palazzetti App

Current inserts can be prepared for Universal Gateway, allowing supported functions to be managed through the Palazzetti App.

Upgrading an existing fireplace

Before installing a pellet insert, check fireplace width, height and depth, flue position, pellet-loading access, maintenance space, combustion-air requirements and any warm-air ducts.

Air-heating insert or Hydro insert?

The products in this category are designed for air heating.

For radiators or other water-based heating systems, a Palazzetti Ecofire Hydro fireplace insert should be considered instead.

Italian environmental ratings

A70S currently carries an Italian 5-Star environmental rating, while Small 54, A78, AC78 and KPE8 are rated 4-Star.

Italian Conto Termico 3.0

Palazzetti currently lists A70S among the models with Conto Termico 3.0 documentation.

Actual incentive eligibility depends on the exact appliance and complete replacement project.

Flue and chimney system

Current models in this range use an 80 mm appliance flue outlet, but the complete chimney must be correctly sized for the specific installation.
