90° De Marinis DESIGN SDC9 elbow for wood-burning stoves

The De Marinis DESIGN SDC9 90° elbow is a component of the DESIGN flue system designed to create a 90-degree change of direction in the flue connection of wood-burning stoves, fireplaces and biomass appliances.

It is manufactured from 2 mm carbon steel with a matt black high-temperature finish. Its robust construction and clean appearance make the DESIGN range particularly suitable for visible indoor installations.

The SDC9 elbow connects two flue sections at a right angle, allowing the flue route to be adapted to the position of the appliance and the chimney inlet.

It is available in nominal diameters Ø 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 180 and 200 mm.

What the DESIGN SDC9 elbow is used for

The SDC9 elbow is used where a 90-degree change of direction in the flue route is required.

It can be used, for example, to connect a vertical section to a horizontal section or to reach a chimney inlet that is not aligned with the appliance flue outlet.

Before purchasing, select the correct diameter and check compatibility with:

  • the stove or fireplace flue outlet;
  • the other pipes and fittings in the system;

90° elbow and chimney draught

Every change of direction affects the route of combustion products and may influence the draught characteristics of the flue system.

The number and position of elbows and the overall length of the connecting flue should therefore be assessed according to the characteristics of the appliance and chimney.

Important: the use of a 90° elbow must comply with the appliance manufacturer's instructions and the technical design of the installation. Where possible, unnecessary changes of direction in the flue route should be avoided.
