De Marinis DESIGN SDRP through-wall flue pipe cover plate

The De Marinis DESIGN SDRP through-wall cover plate is an accessory designed to finish flue pipe penetrations through walls and ceilings in installations for wood-burning stoves, fireplaces and biomass appliances.

Unlike a conventional flat cover plate, the SDRP features a 100 mm deep cylindrical sleeve that extends into the opening and helps position and centre the flue pipe at the penetration point.

The component is manufactured from 2 mm carbon steel with a matt black high-temperature finish matching the other components of the De Marinis DESIGN range.

What the DESIGN SDRP cover plate is used for

The SDRP is mainly used where a flue pipe passes through a wall or ceiling.

Its cylindrical sleeve extends into the penetration opening, providing a more complete finish than a surface-only cover plate and helping to centre the pipe in the opening.

The external flange conceals the edge of the opening and provides a cleaner appearance.

The component fits around the pipe and does not form part of the direct flue gas passage.

Through-wall sleeve and pipe centring

The main feature of the SDRP is its 100 mm deep cylindrical section.

This allows the cover plate to extend into the wall or ceiling penetration and provide a more complete finish than the flat SDRS version.

The internal diameter is slightly larger than the nominal pipe diameter to allow the flue pipe to pass through correctly.

Important: the SDRP is a finishing and centring accessory. It does not replace any certified wall penetration, insulation or protection system required where combustible materials are present and must not be used to reduce prescribed safety clearances.

Difference between SDRP and SDRS

The SDRS is a flat cover plate that provides a surface finish around a flue pipe opening.

The SDRP is a through-wall cover plate with a 100 mm deep cylindrical sleeve, making it particularly suitable for wall and ceiling penetrations.

The correct version should therefore be selected according to the installation geometry and the type of finish required.

Compatibility with the DESIGN system

The SDRP is designed for use with De Marinis DESIGN flue pipes.

The DESIGN system is manufactured from 2 mm carbon steel with a matt black high-temperature finish and is intended mainly for indoor installations with wood-burning stoves, fireplaces and biomass appliances.

For correct dimensional compatibility, select the cover plate with the same nominal Øn diameter as the flue pipe.

De Marinis dimensions and product codes

Øn indicates the nominal pipe diameter, Øi the internal diameter, Øe the external flange diameter and H the depth of the cylindrical sleeve.

Technical note: all SDRP variants have a sleeve depth H of 100 mm. The internal diameter Øi is 8 mm larger than the nominal Øn diameter, while the external flange diameter Øe is 108 mm larger than Øn. Always refer to the technical drawing included on the product page.

How to read the technical drawing

• Øn: nominal diameter of the compatible flue pipe
• Øi: internal diameter of the through-wall sleeve
• Øe: external diameter of the cover flange
• H: depth of the through-wall sleeve, 100 mm

Comparing the pipe diameter, Øi, Øe and H depth helps verify compatibility with both the flue pipe and the wall or ceiling opening.

Installation

The SDRP is positioned in the penetration opening with its cylindrical section inserted into the wall or ceiling and the external flange resting against the surface.

It can be secured using wall plugs or a fixing system suitable for the supporting material.

The cover plate must not interfere with pipe joints and must not be used as a structural support for the flue pipe.

Installation must comply with De Marinis instructions, appliance requirements and the applicable safety clearances for wall or ceiling penetrations.
