The De Marinis DESIGN SDRS45E elliptical cover plate is a finishing accessory designed to cover the opening where a flue pipe passes through a wall at an approximately 45° angle.
When a cylindrical pipe passes through a surface at an angle, the visible opening becomes elongated rather than circular. The elliptical geometry of the SDRS45E provides more suitable coverage than a conventional round cover plate.
The component is manufactured from 2 mm ferrous steel with a matt black finish matching the pipes and accessories of the De Marinis DESIGN range.
It is available in nominal diameters Ø 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 180 and 200 mm.
The SDRS45E is used where a connecting flue passes through a wall at approximately 45°.
With an inclined penetration, the visible wall opening is larger and elongated compared with a perpendicular pipe penetration.
The elliptical cover plate therefore helps conceal the edge of the opening and provides a cleaner, more professional finish around the flue pipe.
The component is fitted around the outside of the pipe and does not form part of the flue gas path.
A conventional circular cover plate is generally suitable where the pipe passes through a surface substantially perpendicular to it.
With an inclined pipe, however, the projection on the wall becomes elliptical. The SDRS45E is specifically designed to match this type of wall penetration.
It is particularly useful in visible installations where an inclined connecting flue or elbow reaches the chimney through a wall.

Technical note: on all SDRS45E variants Øi is 8 mm larger than the nominal Øn diameter, while Øe is 108 mm larger than Øn. The actual plate geometry is elliptical to suit an inclined 45° wall penetration. Always refer to the technical drawing included on the product page.

The SDRS45E is positioned around the pipe where the connecting flue passes through the wall at an inclined angle.
It can be secured using wall plugs or an appropriate fixing system suitable for the supporting surface.
The cover plate must not interfere with the flue pipe or component joints and must not be used as a mechanical pipe support.
Installation must comply with De Marinis instructions, appliance requirements and the applicable safety clearances for the flue system.
