The De Marinis DESIGN SDSER flue draught control damper is an accessory designed for installation inside the connecting flue pipe of wood-burning stoves, fireplaces and biomass appliances.
Its purpose is to allow the free flue gas passage area to be adjusted, providing a means of influencing flue flow where such a device is appropriate for the appliance and installation configuration.
The SDSER component is made from stainless steel and is designed for use with De Marinis DESIGN stove pipes.
It is available in nominal diameters Ø 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 180 and 200 mm.
The SDSER is used to partially regulate the internal free area of the connecting flue and therefore influence the passage of combustion products.
In suitable installations it can be used as part of the draught regulation strategy where excessive chimney draught could affect appliance operation.
The damper should not, however, be treated as a universal accessory for every installation. Its use must comply with the appliance manufacturer's instructions and the technical design of the flue system.
The position of the damper changes the free cross-sectional area available for the passage of flue gases.
Adjustment must not obstruct the correct evacuation of combustion products and must allow the appliance to operate within the conditions specified by its manufacturer.
Important: the damper must never be adjusted in a way that compromises the safe evacuation of combustion products. Its installation position and adjustment must be determined according to the appliance and flue system by qualified personnel.
The SDSER is a damper designed to be installed inside a pipe and, unlike the SDT2S component, it does not include a complete straight pipe section.
This allows the device to be fitted at a suitable point of the connecting flue according to the installation configuration.
Before ordering, select the SDSER diameter corresponding to the nominal diameter of the DESIGN pipe in which the damper will be installed.
The SDSER is listed by De Marinis as an accessory of the DESIGN range, a 2 mm carbon-steel flue system with a matt black finish intended for indoor installations with fireplaces and wood-burning stoves.
The SDSER accessory itself is listed by the manufacturer with a stainless steel finish.
For dimensional compatibility, select the version with the same nominal Øn diameter as the pipe.
The SDSER is an accessory of the De Marinis DESIGN system, manufactured in accordance with EN 1856-2:2009 for indoor flue applications used with biomass appliances.

Øn indicates the nominal diameter of the damper and must correspond to the nominal diameter of the pipe in which the component is installed.
