The De Marinis DESIGN SDRT telescopic cover plate is an accessory designed to finish flue pipe penetrations through walls and ceilings in installations for wood-burning stoves, fireplaces and biomass appliances.
Its telescopic construction allows the component to adapt to the penetration area, providing a more complete finish than a conventional surface cover plate.
The SDRT is particularly suitable for installations where the vertical chimney section is positioned coaxially with the appliance.
It is manufactured from 2 mm carbon steel with a matt black high-temperature finish matching the pipes and accessories of the De Marinis DESIGN range.
The cover plate is secured using fixing plugs and is supplied with felt. It is available in nominal diameters Ø 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 180 and 200 mm.
The SDRT is used where a connecting flue passes through a wall or ceiling and a neat, adaptable finish is required around the penetration.
Its telescopic configuration allows the component to adapt to the penetration area and conceal the opening around the pipe.
The model is particularly suitable where the vertical chimney develops coaxially with the stove or appliance.
The cover plate is fitted around the flue pipe and does not form part of the direct flue gas path.
The distinctive feature of the SDRT is its telescopic construction, providing greater installation flexibility than flat or fixed-depth cover plates.
De Marinis specifies a height of H = 260 mm for all available nominal diameters.
This configuration is particularly useful where a deeper and more complete finish is required around the flue pipe penetration.
Important: the SDRT is a finishing accessory. It does not replace any certified penetration, insulation or protection system required where combustible materials are present and must not be used to reduce prescribed safety clearances.
The SDRT telescopic cover plate is secured to the supporting surface using fixing plugs suitable for the wall or ceiling material.
The component is also supplied with felt, according to the De Marinis configuration.
The fixing system must keep the cover plate stable without mechanically loading or deforming the flue pipe.
The SDRS is a flat cover plate intended mainly to finish the surface around the pipe opening.
The SDRP is a through-wall cover plate with a fixed-depth cylindrical section.
The SDRT instead features a telescopic configuration, providing greater adaptability at the wall or ceiling penetration.
The correct product should therefore be selected according to the opening geometry, pipe position and required installation finish.
The SDRT is designed for use with De Marinis DESIGN flue pipes.
The DESIGN system is manufactured from 2 mm carbon steel with a matt black high-temperature finish and is intended mainly for indoor installations with fireplaces and wood-burning stoves.
For correct dimensional compatibility, select the cover plate with the same nominal Øn diameter as the flue pipe.
The table below lists the available SDRT telescopic cover plate variants. All dimensions are expressed in millimetres.
Øn indicates the nominal pipe diameter, H the height of the telescopic cover plate and Ød the external flange diameter specified by De Marinis.
| Finish | De Marinis code | Øn (mm) | H (mm) | Ød (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matt black | SDRT120 | 120 | 260 | 228 |
| Matt black | SDRT130 | 130 | 260 | 238 |
| Matt black | SDRT140 | 140 | 260 | 248 |
| Matt black | SDRT150 | 150 | 260 | 258 |
| Matt black | SDRT160 | 160 | 260 | 268 |
| Matt black | SDRT180 | 180 | 260 | 288 |
| Matt black | SDRT200 | 200 | 260 | 308 |
Technical note: all SDRT variants have height H = 260 mm. The external diameter Ød ranges from 228 mm for Ø120 to 308 mm for Ø200 and is 108 mm larger than the nominal Øn diameter. Always refer to the technical drawing included on the product page.
Comparing the pipe diameter, H dimension, Ød external diameter and technical drawing helps verify the required installation dimensions.
The SDRT is positioned around the flue pipe where it passes through the wall or ceiling and adjusted according to the penetration geometry.
It is secured using fixing plugs suitable for the supporting material. The supplied felt should be retained according to the manufacturer's intended configuration.
The cover plate must not interfere with flue pipe joints and must not be used as a structural support for the connecting flue.
Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel in accordance with De Marinis instructions, appliance requirements and applicable technical regulations.
